WeeBeeTunes Class Pack Selected as a 2005 Awards Portfolio Winner

CHICAGO, IL – May 1, 2005 – Girdwood Partners, producer of the WeeBeeTunes Travel Adventures® series, reports that the WeeBeeTunes Class Pack has been named by Media & Methods Magazine a winner of its 2005 Awards Portfolio.  The Awards Portfolio competition acknowledges instructional technology products and services that contribute to excellence in K – 12 schools.  A team of educators evaluates programs on the basis of their purpose, content, documentation, and effectiveness.  Other criteria include interest level, clarity of educational objectives, and user friendliness.

The WeeBeeTunes Class Pack is a K – 4 multi-media kit that teachers use to introduce basic geography concepts and world studies themes to young students.  Girdwood Partners has teamed with Rand McNally Education to offer the program to school districts nationwide.  In addition to the WeeBeeTunes musical episodes, the kit includes a teacher’s guide, student passports, and a Rand McNally world map poster. The Teacher’s Guide has been cross-referenced with the Rand McNally Classroom Atlas.  The content of the musical program is correlated to the 18 National Geography Standards.

According to the judging panel, “This is an amazing social studies tool for elementary school classes.  The teacher’s guide is comprehensive and easy to understand.  Contains a wide [variety] of activities - everything a teacher needs.”
